Yngwie J. Malmsteen, guitarrista y compositor sueco, su nombre real es Lars Johann Yngwie Lannerback, nació el 30 de junio de 1963 en Estocolmo, Suecia. Estuvo en grupos como Steeler y Alcatrazz, es considerado uno de los más grandes Guitarristas virtuosos de todos los tiempos. Durante años, Malmsteen ha usado varias marcas de cuerdas, desde Ernie Ball, Fender y, últimamente, su modelo personalizado de Dean Markley denominado "Electric Magic". El calibre varía pero normalmente usa un tipo ligero que va de 0.08 a 0.48, el cual es considerado por los demás guitarristas como excesivamente delgado. Las púas suelen ser Jim Dunlop de 1.5 mm. con su firma en ellas.
